Mob Spawn Eggs

Manage direct spawning, throwing, worlds, and logging.

The Full Edition includes 270 Spawn Eggs based on native Hytale EntityIds, with direct spawning and throwable eggs. This guide covers global controls, per-world overrides, the blacklist, and logs.

Getting started

STEP 01

Install the Full Edition

Use only one build of the mod in the mods folder.

STEP 02

Choose the modes

Decide whether Direct and Throw should be enabled globally.

STEP 03

Define world rules

Add overrides or blacklist entries before opening the feature to players.

The mod uses native EntityIds and server-side validation. Keep per-world rules simple and always test protected worlds before granting permissions.

WHAT IT DOES

The two modes can be enabled or disabled independently.

IMPORTANT BEHAVIOR

  • Direct uses left click for immediate spawning.
  • Throw uses right click and creates the visible projectile.
  • The egg is consumed only when the native action succeeds; Throw also has a watchdog and one-egg refund if the impact callback never completes.

WHAT IT DOES

Each world can override Direct, Throw, or both without changing the global default.

IMPORTANT BEHAVIOR

  • World names are normalized case-insensitively.
  • An override may specify only one of the two modes.
  • The global rule remains the fallback when a value is not overridden.

The blacklist prevents Spawn Egg usage in the listed worlds.

IMPORTANT BEHAVIOR

  • The blacklist is separate from Direct/Throw overrides.
  • Use it when you want to forbid the feature entirely in a world.
  • World names are compared in normalized form.

  • You can revoke one mode while keeping the other available.

WHAT IT DOES

Console and file logging can be configured separately for successful and failed spawns.

IMPORTANT BEHAVIOR

  • Keep debug-messages disabled during normal operation.
  • Direct and Throw have independent logging controls.
  • Retention limits the growth of diagnostic logs.

Before using an example

The Full Edition includes both Direct and Throw; the Free Edition is Direct-only.

Creative Library categories and egg-specific colors are generated by the mod.

The shown configuration follows the current structured format of the Full Edition.
